Past GKCIS President, Judy Keisling has been named the new AIS President. Judy will complete the term of Dr. E. Roy Epperson who passed away suddenly in January, 2010. Those of us who knew Roy are deeply saddened by his loss and will miss his leadership and elegance.

Judy has been thrust into these new responsibilities on short notice, but not without a wealth of experience. She has been involved with iris since the '90's when she and her late husband Ray (Past RVP of Region 18) caught the "iris virus". Judy has worked continuously in numerous local clubs including the GKCIS and the Pony Express Iris Society as well as half dozen or more local clubs in region 18 at various times. She is also the current AIS Chairman for Judges and serves as Editor for the Region 18 Bulletin. She was a major work force in organizing and implementing the recent national AIS meetings in Kansas City and works tirelessly behind the scenes on many iris related and other public good will projects. Judy is on this year's judging panel for the International Iris Competition in Florence Italy "Premio Firenze" by invitation of the Italian Iris Society.
GKCIS is proud to have Judy Keisling at the helm steering AIS toward a bright future. Although she is taking the office under sad and difficult circumstances, we all support her drive to make AIS a better organization and Region 18 and GKCIS proud of her.
